JJ Abrams and Star Trek

I have seen the trailer, read the blogs, read and heard the interviews, speculated with friends and acquaintances, and conversed with both Trekkers and Non-Trekkers about this movie.

This new movie looks like something different than the Star Trek we are used to, and yet it feels familiar, and to me, somehow "right", based on what I've seen so far.

The new Enterprise, what has been published, looks to be very well realized, with a degree of familiarity, yet completely new at the same time.

The new uniforms are great, with the basic look of the original show, only with more detail and subtle tweaks to make it convincing that the primary-colored tops could be 23rd century uniforms.

The Bridge looks very different, yet with a basic design in keeping with the original, and it looks like something far more real.

The film looks like it will be very much an adventure in the truest sense of the word, with plenty of fun to be had.

The leaked information indicates that there are many moments that center on the characters that we all know and love.

So far, I'm very happy with the way it's going, and hopefully the film will live up to the promise of the trailer, and to the promise of adventure.
